good afternoon and welcome to the good
0:07
plates kitchen today we are making fresh
0:11
salsa okay and we have here this is
0:14
something that you don't usually see in
0:16
salsa this is hot pepper paste it is
0:19
made out of hot peppers okay you can
0:24
find this at international stores
0:26
specifically usually Armenian stores
0:29
okay now since we are going to be
0:30
working with peppers and chili pepper
0:34
really important to use
0:37
gloves cuz if you don't use gloves and
0:40
you get the chili pepper on your finger
0:44
and you touch your eye oh that really
0:46
hurts so we don't want to do that I know
0:49
I've mentioned that before but it's
0:51
always good to say it again when you
0:55
were working with jalapenos and other SP
0:59
spicy peppers should always wear gloves
1:02
so what else do we have here we have
1:04
this jalapena that actually came out of
1:06
my
1:08
garden
1:10
tomatoes onion hot pepper
1:13
paste cilantro and Boswell seasoned salt
1:18
there's the recipe for the Boswell
1:20
seasoned salt on the website okay and
1:24
we're going to be
1:26
using a bron food processor and there's
1:29
the food
1:32
processor
1:39
and we're going to use the S
1:45
blade let's fit it
1:50
in there okay and the first thing we're
1:54
going to do is this is very simple
2:00
there's a
2:01
jalapeno this is a mediumsized jalapeno
2:05
it's not a large one so I'm going to
2:07
leave the seeds in there so it'll stay
2:10
nice and
2:11
hot and just to let let you
2:16
see it's the sea it's actually the piss
2:19
the white stuff right here that's what
2:21
makes jalapenos very hot the seeds that
2:25
happen to be right by the pith they
2:30
get hot too but that's when they talk
2:33
when you talk about deeding a pepper
2:36
that's what it means to take out the
2:37
piss and the seeds Okay but we want ours
2:40
hot so we're going to stick it right in
2:42
there
2:45
okay and
2:47
now
2:51
tomato cut it in
2:56
half and the other one
3:00
cut it in half as well goes directly in
3:04
there
3:09
and
3:15
onion it goes directly in
3:22
there
3:25
cilantro since we're going to be putting
3:27
it in the food processor it's it's okay
3:30
for the cilantro to have some stems you
3:32
wouldn't want to do
3:35
this for any other application because
3:39
stems can be kind of strange okay they
3:41
go directly in there
3:47
too and now it's time for the SED off
3:53
pepper paste we'll use that
3:58
much little bit of Boswell seasoned salt
4:01
goes in there
4:02
too and let's go we're just I'm just
4:05
going to put it on
4:20
continuous
4:22
okay it's
4:27
done and we have a lovely B bowl with
4:31
Chiles on it to put the salsa
4:35
in
4:39
and scrape it
4:42
out oh this is
4:45
beautiful you
4:46
see and we'll leave some of that salsa
4:49
in there for the guacamole to
4:53
use and here's our salza and it
4:57
beautiful oops
5:00
I almost forgot to add chipotle pepper
5:02
to this wouldn't you know I'm all out of
5:06
tortilla chips but that's okay a cracker
5:08
will be just fine okay put a little bit
5:11
on the cracker dip it in there let's try
5:14
it very
5:16
nice it's
5:23
hot without being insane
5:30
and it tastes very very fresh
5:34
okay thank you for watching see you next
